Art of Making Teaching Assistant

Fall 2016 - Present

The Art of Making: an Introduction to Hands-on System Design and Engineering, is a course that teaches principles of human-centered design and the skills to build and implement prototypes. After taking the class as a freshman in Spring 2016, I started serving as a Teaching Assistant to pass on the incredible knowledge I had learned to the next group of students. As a part of English Composition 0400 - Written Professional Communication, I wrote a report on the importance of teaching Design Thinking to students in higher education and beyond. Haiti Mission Trip

Summer 2013

I had an incredible opportunity to serve on a mission trip to the poor country of Haiti. Although this trip happened several years ago, the memories and impact it had are still vivid in my mind. Seeing the everyday struggles of the Haitians built an appreciation for my fortune and sparked a desire to improve the lives of others in anyway I can.

A Life of Learning

I strongly believe in learning throughout life. Learning doesn't just take place in a classroom at a school, it is always happening, even if we don't recognize it. I make it a point to read, listen, and watch content that teaches me about this world and the people in it.

Below are a few of my favorite podcasts and blogs I subscribe to for encouraging my compassion.
